WELCOME TO AUSSIE INVADER 5R

This vehicle is the latest in a long range of designs to tackle the arduous World Land Speed Record. From the humble beginnings of the Jeantaud automobile driven by Count Gaston de Chasseloup-Laubat in Paris 1898, to Richard Noble’s SSC in Black Rock in 1997; man has pitted his mind against the elements, technology and innovation to come up with that definitive design.  The minds  of these men who have gone before us far outstrip the imagination of those of us that look on.

Rosco McGlashan is no different, this vehicle you see before you is the product of a fertile mind and the vehicle is the product of determination, perseverance and the killer instinct to win.

The power source behind this project is our MEGABOOM bi propellant Rocket motor capable of delivering in excess of  300,000hp.

This is a hypergolic rocket developed by NASA and the USAF to test spaceship structures and supersonic aircraft. The motor was designed to operate in the horizontal position and ran on a cocktail of red fuming nitric acid and hydrazine. Unladen, it has gone from a standing start to 1500mph (2400kph) in 6.7 seconds
