Short video showing the hydraulic ram built into Aussie Invader 5R, which is used to lift the front of the car up and can also be deployed as an emergency "runaway" brake if the car was not able to stop. It would be lowered into the ground in an emergency situation to help bring the car to a halt.

At the time it was faster than Richard Noble’s LSR in Thrust II, but because it was only a one way run it was not an official record.
